The board also announced a meeting for Thursday night to vote on the no-fault termination of Joseph Jimick, the district's Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations. Jimick was hired last year on a three-year contract. His termination is effective Sept. 14.

Dawn Capuano will be replacing Jimick and will also be given a three-year contract.

At Wednesday's meeting, the board hired Kathleen Farrell as deputy superintendent with a five-year contract for $150,000 a year.

Two school board trustees who were recently voted out of office approved Farrell's hire and will be voting on Jimick''s termination. Their replacements will not join the board until July.

Board member Felicia Watson along with Doreen Clifford and Debra Long, who will join the board in July had sent letters to the school board questioning the hire as well as other decisions the board will be voting on.
