Landahl is the new superintendent of the Beacon City School District, officially starting his job on July 1. Landahl was hired in January on a three-year-contract. He will make $190,000 in his first year.
Being superintendent in Beacon is like teaching the Defense Against The Dark Arts at Hogwarts- since 2006, there have been nine different superintendents.
Before coming to Beacon, Landahl was deputy superintendent in the Ithaca City School District, being promoted from chief elementary officer and chief academic officer.
He taught elementary school in Baltimore and was an elementary school principal in Virginia.
