It is school budget season in Dutchess.

Voters throughout the county will head to the polls Tuesday to vote on whether to approve school budgets and elect trustees to the school board. Several school districts have propositions on the ballot.

In Poughkeepsie, five candidates are vying for two seats. Incumbents Ralph Coates and Gregory Charter are running as a slate, being challenged by Doreen Clifford and Debra Long, who are also running as a slate. Gregory Melton is also running. The $96.7 budget increases spending by two percent

In Red Hook, incumbent Dawn Morrison is being challenged by Jennifer Munn, Lauren Rose and Gretchen Werner with two open seats available. The $52.68 million budget increases spending by 1.82 percent.

In Rhinebeck, Joseph Baer, Elizabeth Raum, and Jaclyn Savolainen are running for two open seats. The $32.1 million budget increases spending by three percent and will be attempting to override the tax cap.
