“Think Differently” focuses on people who have disabilities, aiming to ensure that all people can access businesses, government services, and community events.
The expansion plans include the addition of a Special Needs Advocate position at the Deputy Commissioner level. The advocate would help families and individuals understand what services are available, help them navigate through the steps necessary to get the services, and service as an advocate with providers, government agencies, and local businesses.
The plans also include an evaluation of how to increase accessibility of county parks, training for businesses in providing access, and a webpage of services for people with disabilities.
