Absentee ballots were counted Thursday afternoon by the Dutchess County Board of Elections and LaColla, a Republican, defeated Ozzy Albra, a Democrat by 13 votes, 1,669 to 1,656. On Election Night, LaColla held a 36-vote lead.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Albra said he wants to have the ballots issued on Election Day to be counted by hand before he concedes. Albra said he still thinks he will come out on top.

Republicans Ori Brachfield and Thomas Adams were elected to the town board, defeating Democrats Debra Laham and Joseph Pirrone.
