Bernie Sanders Makes Pitch For Teachout At New Paltz Rally

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont attended a New Paltz for Teachout rally Friday in support of Democrat Zephyr Teachout for the 19th District in Congress, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

"'That's 'Bernie!' has got to be transferred to Zephyr," Sanders said, according to the Journal.

Sanders said he was "deeply impressed about the person that Zephyr is and the campaign she is running," the Poughkeepsie Journal report said.

Teachout's bid is against Republican John Faso of Kinderhook, noted the Poughkeepsie Journal.
