Woman Seriously Injured In Hit-Run Accident In Poughkeepsie

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 62-year-old woman riding a bicycle was injured during a hit-and-run on Thursday, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police.

The woman, a Poughkeepsie resident, was hit around 9:48 a.m. at the intersection of Church Street and Jefferson Street by a motor vehicle, which fled the scene, said Capt. Richard T. Wilson.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, he added.

The vehicle, which left the scene of the accident, is described as a dark colored. The vehicle fled eastbound on Church Street immediately following the crash, Wilson said.
