DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 30-year-old woman was busted by state police after she allegedly attempted to bring drugs into the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill.
Investigators from the New York State Police were notified by officials at the correctional facility on Oct. 21, notifying them that Lake George resident Ashlee Koehler was attempting to smuggle drugs into the jail.
Police said that further investigation determined that Koehler was in possession of eight Suboxone pills that she intended to sneak into the facility.
Koehler was subsequently arrested and charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband. She was arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Justice Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on Nov. 21 to answer the charges.
