Shortly before noon on Tuesday, Dec. 26, officers from the East Fishkill PD officers were dispatched to the business’ location, where they found Wappingers resident Jeffery Kimmel, 30, outside.

Further investigation determined that Kimmel was in possession of a knife and unregistered, loaded handgun, which were concealed under his clothes, on his belt. After disarming him, police said that he was also in possession of more than an ounce of marijuana.

Kimmel was arrested and charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. He was also charged with criminal possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and criminal mischief, all misdemeanors.

Following arraignment, Kimmel was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $60,000 bond. He is due back in East Fishkill Court next year to answer the charges.

The name of the business involved was not released.
