WAPPINGER, N.Y. – A Wappinger man was arrested by state police on Monday on child pornography charges after a USB drive with sexual imagery featuring children was discovered along the side of Old Hopewell Road.

John Casali, 38, was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child, a felony.

The charges come after a resident discovered the flash drive back in October and contacted authorities, who promptly contacted the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

It was discovered that Casali owned the flash drive, which contained more than 100 images of children in sexual acts.

Casali was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, and will next appear in Wappinger Town Court on Wednesday.
