FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Two motorists were hospitalized, one with serious injuries, after a two-car serious crash at the intersection of Route 52 at Palen Road in Hopewell Junction.
A 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 20-year-old Hopewell Junction woman, was traveling East on Route 52 when a 2004 Buick Sedan, driven by a 65-year-old Bloomington, NY man was driving south on Palen Road when both vehicles entered the intersection and collided, East Fishkill Police said.
The man suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to Poughkeepsie Hospital by Mobile Life Support ambulances. The man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The woman is being treated for her injuries and is expected to be released.
The two vehicles were seriously damaged in the crash, East Fishkill Police said.
East Fishkill Police were assisted at the scene by a State Police unit. East Fishkill Fire and ambulance crews were assisted by Mobile Life Ambulance and the Hudson Valley Research Park Emergency Control crew. Traffic was restricted while police investigated the scene, which was cleared up at 2:30 p.m.
The investigation is continuing, and anyone who may have witnessed the crash should call police at 845-221-2111.
