Troopers on patrol at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night stopped Lloyd residents Adam Cardella, 21, and Tyler Bugbee, 22, for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the subsequent stop, it was reported that there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting further investigation.

Police said that the investigation determined that the duo were in possession of approximately four grams of cocaine and an unspecified amount of marijuana.

Both Cardella and Bugbee were arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Cardella was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Following arraignment, each was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of cash bail or property bond. Cardella and Bugbee are due back in Pleasant Valley Court later this year to answer the charges.
