The fire started just before 3 p.m. Monday at 80 West Dorsey Lane in the second-floor apartment, said Fairview Fire District Chief Christopher Maeder.
Fairview firefighters arrived on the scene within three minutes and were able to attack the fire from the interior and contain the fire to the original apartment on the second floor, Maeder said.
Assisting the Fairview on the scene was the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department, Roosevelt Fire District, Pleasant Valley Fire District, Arlington Fire District, Hyde Park Fire District, Mobile Life Support Services, Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, Town of Hyde Park Police, Dutchess County Sherriff’s Office, and New York State Police. Providing stand-by coverage was the Highland Fire District.
There were no injuries to firefighting personnel or occupants, Maeder said.
The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental, he added.
