Town Of Poughkeepsie Captain Graduates From FBI Academy

Town of Poughkeepsie Capt. Kevin Faber recently graduated from the FBI National Academy's 270th session, according to Chief Ronald J. Spero.

The 11-week session included 222 law enforcement executives from 49 states, 20 countries, three military organizations, and four federal civil organizations.

The academy is a professional course of study for law enforcement managers and provides programs on every from intelligence theory, terrorism, forensic science to health and fitness, communications and behavioral science.

It also serves to improve law enforcement standards and gives participants a chance to participate in a wide-range of leadership and specialized training where they share ideas, techniques, and experiences with each other. Many times members create life-long bonds that transcend state and national borders. 

The academy, located in Quantico, Va., was founded in 1935 and has more than 50,000 graduates. To attend the academy, applicants are nominated by their agency heads and undergo a detailed selection process. On average, less than one percent of applicants are accepted.
