BEACON, N.Y. -- A local man was charged Saturday in a stabbing incident involving two people on Jordan Road in Beacon, including a woman who required surgery for her wounds, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Beacon police said they arrested William Herrera, Jr., 18, after finding him walking towards them with bloody hands when they arrived on the scene of the attack. The unidentified woman received several stab wounds in the chest and stomach. Another man was stabbed in the face, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Herrera was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, resisting arrest, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree assault, and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $250,000 bond, added the Poughkeepsie Journal.
