Six Dutchess Motorists Charged In Weekend DWI Detail

Dutchess motorists facing charges are:

  • David F. Markert, 27, of Poughkeepsie for DWI, a misdemeanor.  Markert was stopped by state police from Wappinger on Main Street in Poughkeepsie provided a positive breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .11 percent, police said. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on Dec. 22.
  • Michael B. Walsh, 51, of Dover Plains for DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, both felonies. Walsh, who was stopped by troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks for failing to maintain his lane of travel on Route 44, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop and operating with a revoked driver’s license due to a previous DWI related arrest, state police said. Walsh provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .12 percent, police said. He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Washington Court on Dec .20.
  • Donald J. Pinder 36, of Poughkeepsie for DWI, a misdemeanor.  Pinder was stopped on Route 44 for driving over 20 miles per hour below the posted speed limit, state police from the Poughkeepsie barracks said. Pinder provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .17 percent and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on Dec. 20.
  • Michael E. Wright, 25, of Pleasant Valley, with DWAI by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, both misdemeanors.  Subsequent to a traffic stop by state troopers from Poughkeepsie conducted on Degarmo Road for vehicle and traffic violations, Wright was found to be impaired by drugs and was also charged with possessing heroin, state police said.  Wright was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of LaGrange Court at a later date and time.  He was then transported to SP Newburgh to answer a warrant issued by the Town of Newburgh Court ordering his arrest.
  • Caitlin L. Friel, 27, of Wappinger for DWI, a misdemeanor. Friel was charged by state police from Poughkeepsie with DWI following a traffic stop for failing to dim her high beams to oncoming traffic. Friel provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10 percent, police said, and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on Dec. 15.
  • Raymond H. Chan, 31, of Poughkeepsie for DWI, a misdemeanor.  Troopers stopped Chan on Noxon Road for speeding and observed clues that indicated he was intoxicated at the time of the stop, police said. Chan supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .11 percent, police said, and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court on Dec. 20.
