The device, which attaches to credit card readers steals the user's banking information, was reported on Jan. 13, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks.

Although police do not know what type of device was used, Hicks said newer skimmers have a blue-tooth capability that can be read from a distance.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at Troop K Headquarters at (845) 677-7300. Please refer to SJS # 8043915 or ask to speak with Investigator Dolcemascolo.
