Poughkeepsie Woman Steals $1.4K In Merchandise From Walmart, Police Say

A Poughkeepsie woman was nabbed as she walked out of a Walmart with two shopping carts full of more than $1,400 worth of merchandise without paying, according to the Ulster Police Department.

India Reed, 41, was charged Saturday with felony grand larceny after store security officers saw Reed leaving the store without paying for the goods at the Walmart on Sottile Boulevard, police said.

According to Walmart Asset Protection, the merchandise was determined to be worth $1,437.66, police said.

Reed was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ulster Justice Court at a later date.
