Poughkeepsie Woman Charged With Unlawfully Possessing Oxycodone

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The New York State Police at the Highland barracks charged a Poughkeepsie woman after allegedly finding oxycodone in her car following a Dec. 7 traffic stop.

Samantha Vantassel, 32, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

The arrest came after police stopped a vehicle Vantassel was driving on State Route 9W in Lloyd, for excessive window tint, according to police.

An investigation allegedly found Vantassell unlawfully possessed a quantity of oxycodone, police said.

Vantassell was arraigned and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash/$2,000 bond, police said.
