POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A Poughkeepsie woman was charged Sunday by New York State Police from the Dover barracks with stealing personal checks from a Union Vale home.
Allyse K. Moroney, 25, was charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument after troopers were dispatched to a Union Vale home in November to investigate the theft of personal checks.
An investigation revealed that Moroney possessed the stolen and forged check at a Poughkeepsie bank. Poughkeepsie City Court issued a warrant ordering Moroney’s arrest in December. With the assistance of the Hyde Park Police Department, Moroney was located and turned over to the state police.
She was arraigned before the Dover Town Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. She was due to appear in Poughkeepsie City Court on Tuesday.
