Poughkeepsie Sex Offender Who Threatened Girl With Rifle Changes Address

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A registered sex offender accused of having sex with a teenager has changed addresses in Poughkeepsie.

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, registered sex offender Shasha Drayton has changed addresses in Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert Thursday to Dutchess County residents regarding the residency of 31-year-old Shasha Drayton, who has moved from Rose Street to an apartment on Montgomery Street in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Drayton as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Drayton’s victim was a 16-year-old girl he sexually assaulted in 2004, threatening her with a semi-automatic rifle. He was arrested by the Poughkeepsie City Police Department and sentenced to six months in jail. He was not designated as a violent offender.
