Poughkeepsie Man Shot In Nightclub Parking Lot While Celebrating Birthday

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A local man was shot in the leg while celebrating his birthday Sunday at the Club Ciboney, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police.

The 41-year-old victim told police he was standing outside the nightclub at 189 Church St., in a large parking lot around 3:45 a.m., at Cannon and Academy streets when he heard a single gunshot and felt pain in his leg and fell down, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

"He did not see who shot him. No one in the large crowd surrounding the victim saw anything either," Clark said.

The man was driven to Vassar Brother Medical Center by private vehicle. The bullet entered his right thigh, then exited into his left thigh and came to rest in his calf, his wounds are not life-threatening, Clark added.
