DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – Authorities investigating a string of thefts from gas stations and convenience stores have arrested a Poughkeepsie man, charging him with a third-degree burglary, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Jason M. Reed, who was arrested along with two women about 1:30 a.m. Monday near a Shell gas station in Hyde Park, is to answer to the felony charge in court on June 23, according to the Journal.

Authorities have been investigating a number of break-ins and thefts across the county since May 3, according to the Journal, which reported that Reed is suspected in the crimes -- believed to be “drug-related.”

The two women with Reed on Monday were not named by authorities, but also were charged with third-degree burglary, according to the Journal, which reported that the women were released without bail soon after their arrest.

Reed was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond, according to the Journal.
