Police: Poughkeepsie Man Had Cocaine, Marijuana, More Than $10K In Cash

A traffic stop on Route 32 in Ulster led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Dutchess County man who was busted in possession of cocaine, heroin, other drugs and more than $10,000 in cash.

On Friday, March 10, state police conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on Route 32 while assigned to a DWI Enforcement Detail. During the subsequent stop, troopers reported that they could smell marijuana and all occupants of the vehicle were ordered to exit the vehicle.

According to police, during the subsequent investigation, troopers determined that the passenger sitting int he front seat, Poughkeepsie resident Germaine Lowe, was in possession of three grams of cocaine, three grams of heroin, five grams of marijuana and $10,320 in cash.

Lowe was arrested and charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on no bail. He is due back in court on Tuesday, March 14.
