Police Investigate Crash That Leaves Wappingers Falls Man Seriously Injured

WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- State police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a one-car accident that left a Wappingers Falls man with serious injuries.

Police said that Louis C. Barbieri, 33, was driving south on Route 9D a little before midnight Sunday, May 15, when his car left the road and struck a utility pole.

The crash occurred near Magnolia Drive in Wappinger, police said.

Barbieri had to be extricated from his car by emergency crews from the Beacon Fire Department and the Chelsea Fire Department, police said.

He was air-lifted to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

State police are asking anyone who may have information about the crash to call them at (845) 677-7300.
