DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- An unidentified person shot Tuesday at the Poughkeepsie Inn on South Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie received non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The incident, which occurred around 1:54 p.m. at the hotel at 2625 South Road, is still under investigation as police try to determine the cause and exact location of the incident, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Ken Roman.

The victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital, he added. 

"There is no reason to believe that there exists an ongoing public safety risk as a result of this shooting," Roman said.
