Parolee From Newburgh Flees Sheriff's Deputy

NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- A Newburgh man attempted to flee from Orange County Sheriff’s deputies after they attempted to stop him for traffic violations on route 211 in the Town of Wallkill.

Dylan Kratzert, 23, who is currently on parole, sped away in his vehicle to elude the deputies. Kratzert lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail on Stone Ridge Road. He then fled on foot into a wooded area before being apprehended by deputies. 

Kratzert was charged with reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing the police, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest along with 13 traffic violations. 

He was arraigned in Wallkill Town Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
