Motorcyclist Ejected From Vehicle In Town Of Poughkeepsie Crash

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 39-year-old Poughkeepsie man is in serious condition after being thrown from his motorcycle onto the roadway on Wednesday on Spackenkill Road, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police.

The crash happened around 10:54 p.m. when the unidentified driver lost control of his 2013 Suzuki motorcycle in the area of U.S. 9 and was thrown onto the roadway, police said.

He was transported to Vassar Brothers Hospital for serious, but not life-threatening injuries, police said.

Spackenkill Road was closed for more than six hours while the accident scene was reconstructed.

Town of Poughkeepsie police were assisted by the Arlington Fire District and Mobile Life Ambulance service. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
