Man Seriously Injures Woman In Beacon Sexual Assault, Police Say

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Beacon man was arrested Monday after a woman reported he sexually assaulted her, causing “serious injuries,” according to Det. Lt. Lou Lucato.

Nicholas LaBarbera, 38, was charged with one count of felony criminal sex act after the 39-year-old Staten Island woman called police around 4:30 p.m. Monday to reported the incident, said Lucato.

Police met with the woman and investigated the crime, who then charged LaBarbera, police said.

The woman was treated for her injuries at a hospital outside of Dutchess County, Lucato added.

LaBarbera is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond with additional charges pending.
