DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - Additional charges have been levied against man from the Bronx was arrested on Monday after being busted attempting to bring more than two ounces of marijuana to the Greenhaven Correctional Facility.
On Tuesday, state police announced that they had arrested 24-year-old Tyrell Livingston, charging him with a felony count of third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor count of promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, after he attempted to smuggle the drug to an inmate.
According to police, on Monday, March 6, Livingston brought approximately 59.3 grams of marijuana to the jail, with the intent to provide it to the inmate. State police got an assist from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations before making the arrest.
Livingston was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 bond. He is due back in court on Thursday, March 9.
