Man, 37, Charged With DWI In Downtown Poughkeepsie Stop

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A traffic stop on Main Street in Poughkeepsie at 3:36 a.m. on Saturday revealed that the driver Isaac Gutierrez, 37, of Margaretville, was intoxicated, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said.

A Volkswagen was observed passing a red light on Main Street at the intersection with Perry Street in the City of Poughkeepsie by a member of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office who was on patrol.

A further check showed that he had a prior conviction for a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more within the prior 10 years, on March 26, 2007, in Delaware County. 

Gutierrez was charged with both felony DWI and BAC .08 percent or more due to the prior conviction as well as Passing a Red Light a traffic infraction and arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court where he was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on no bail. 

He is scheduled to appear in City of Poughkeepsie Court at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 11.
