LaGrange Man Chokes, Uses Dumbbell To Menace Woman, Police Say

LAGRANGE, NY -- A 53-year-old LaGrange man is facing multiple charges after choking and using a dumbbell to menace a female victim, state police from the Poughkeepsie barracks said.

Alfrederick Morrison Jr., has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (a Class D felony), menacing in the second degree and criminal obstruction of breathing (both Class A misdemeanors).

Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a McDonnell Road residence on Tuesday, May 10 for a disturbance. Subsequent to a verbal dispute, Morrison choked the victim and menaced her with a dumbbell, police said.

Morrison was arraigned before Town Justice Stephen O’Hare in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.
