Troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks received a complaint in November of 2017 of fraudulent credit cards being opened and used in the victim’s name. After a two-month investigation, LaGrange resident Laura Quinn was found to have opened the accounts and made purchases totaling in excess of $30,000, police said.
Quinn was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 9 and charged with identity theft in the first degree and grand larceny in the third degree, both class D felonies, and one count of attempted identity theft In the first degree, a Class E felony.
Quinn was arraigned before the town of LaGrange Court and released on her own recognizance. Quinn is next scheduled to appear before the court on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
