ID Released For Victim In Fatal Poughkeepsie Shooting

The man who was shot and killed overnight in the City of Poughkeepsie near Mansion Square Park early Saturday morning was identified Sunday afternoon by police.

At approximately 3:a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, City of Poughkeepsie 911 received multiple calls reporting gunshots fired in the area of North Clinton Street and Mansion Street.

Arriving officers located 35-year-old Noel McClinton of Poughkeepsie suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, police said. McClinton was treated at the scene by City of Poughkeepsie Firefighters and Mobil Life EMS and transported to a local hospital.

Sometime later, he was pronounced dead. 

The City of Poughkeepsie Police were assisted by Town of Poughkeepsie Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s office and the New York State Police.
