LAGRANGE, N.Y. -- LaGrange firefighters were able to quickly douse a 200-foot brush fire near 136 Stringham Road in LaGrange that started around 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, fire department officials said.
Chief Barry Ward said windy conditions made the fire hard to control at first, but crews were able to get the fire in check within an hour.
No homes were damaged during the event.
