HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- An East Fishkill police officer recently helped save the life of the mother of a Dutchess County sheriff’s deputy, police said.
On Monday, Dec. 7, Officer Tina Amorim responded to a 911 call at a Hopewell Junction residence where she found an unconscious 71-year-old woman.
Along with the victim’s son, Amorim used CPR and an electronic defibrillator to resuscitate her, police said.
They continued treatment until the East Fishkill EMS and Mobile Life paramedics arrived to take over.
The woman, who police did not identify, is said to be recovering in a Poughkeepsie hospital.
