EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- An East Fishkill boy, 9, mistakenly called 911 out of curiosity recently, reaching Dutchess County dispatch, which led police officer Austin Nicholas to respond to the boy's house, the East Fishkill Police Department reports.

"When I got there, I knocked on the door (and) saw Nicholas and his brother running around the house,” Nichols told Time Warner Cable News.

Initially apprehensive, the boy, coincidentally named Nicholas, admitted he made the call "on accident," said the report.

He later wrote an apology letter to Officer Nicholas you can see above.
