Dutchess Man Stopped For Tinted Windows Nabbed With Pound Of Pot

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- A Hyde Park man found himself behind bars after being stopped for having his windows tinted too darkly, according to the New York State Police.

Jonathan S. Maeder, 43, was stopped on State Road 55 on Wednesday when troopers were conducting a traffic detail. While interviewing Maeder, a trooper detected a strong odor of marijuana and searched the car finding 1.5 pounds of marijuana, marijuana wax and marijuana gummy candies, state police said.

Maeder was charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, state police said.

He is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 12.
