New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a Scenic View Road residence at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, where there were multiple reports of a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, troopers were able to resolve the dispute and further investigation determined that 32-year-old North East resident Eric Miles struck his victim multiple time in front of a pair of children who were in the room.

Troopers arrested Miles, who was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and assault, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned in the town of North East Court and released on his own recognizance. A judge issued an order of protection in favor of the victim and Miles is due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
