Dutchess Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Young Child, Police Say

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 35-year-old Dutchess man has been charged with the sexual assault of a child, Hyde Park Police announced Thursday.

Police said they received a report on Tuesday, Aug. 15 of a child being the victim of the sexual assault. The Hyde Park Police Department in conjunction with Dutchess County Child Protective Services and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s office immediately opened an investigation.

The investigation led to the arrest of Miranda Oscar Lopez a 35-year-old male from Hyde Park. Lopez was charged with predatory sexual assault of a child less than 13 years old.

Lopez was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. 

He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Hyde Park Justice Court on Friday, Aug. 18.
