Dutchess Bank Robbery Suspect Apprehended

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- An alleged bank robber who walked into Rondout Savings Bank in Hyde Park and demanded money on Wednesday, Dec. 30, has been apprehended by the Hyde Park Police Department, state police announced early Wednesday evening.

"Both agencies would like to thank the public for their assistance," state police said in a statement.

The suspect was wearing blue jeans, glasses, a red and black flannel shirt, dark colored jacket, a North Face knit cap and dark colored boots, police said.

He reportedly entered the bank at 4269 Albany Post Road and had last been seen fleeing on foot northbound on State Route 9.
