BEACON, N.Y. -- Teresa “Terry” Steltz-Cumella, 80, of Beacon, died Dec. 18 after a long battle with COPD.
Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, Steltz-Cummella was the daughter of the late Hilario and Angelica Ortiz. She came to the Bronx at an early age where she graduated from Morse High School.
She was predeceased in death by her late husband Donald Steltz after 46 years of marriage.
She is survived by her second husband Salvatore Cummella; her children James Steltz (Luisa) and Joann Steltz-Hamilton; five grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, Zachary, Alyssa, Noah, Matthew and Kerrie; great-grandchildren, Winter and Jax. from her grandchildren, Matthew and Kerrie; brother Victor Vidal, and step-daughters Meghan and Cassandra Sundell.
The family will receive their friends on Monday, Dec. 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Kingston.
