POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Sandra Lassman, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, May 13. She was 85.
Born July 25, 1930, in the Bronx, the daughter of the late Morris and Dora Sweitzer Heckler.
She was a graduate of Taft High School in the Bronx. She was full-time, stay-at-home mom, who spent her days taking care of her family. A local resident for the past 10 years, she was formerly of Wantagh, where she was a member of the Suburban Temple and Hadassah.
She is survived by her children, Alan Gordon and wife Jennifer, of Atlanta, Andrew Lassman and wife, Caryn, of Brooklyn, Brian Lassman and wife Cindy, of Long Island, Floyd Gordon of Long Island, Eileen Lassman of Long Island, Risa Calta and husband Sal, of Poughkeepsie, and Alec Lassman and wife Lisa, of Parkland; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husbands Harold Gordon and Daniel Lassman; and brother Jerome Heckler.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rabbi Leah Berkowitz will be officiating. Burial will be at the family plot in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
