Patricia S. Barton, 83, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Patricia S. Barton, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, Nov. 16. She was 83.

The daughter of the late Ralph and Dolores Porter, she was born March 31, 1933 at Vassar Hospital. 

Feisty, witty and fun-loving, she loved her family and her pets, Charlie and Groucho. 

She worked for the Grand Union Supermarket for 35 years, where she made a family of friends. She especially enjoyed her weekly breakfasts at The Big Tomato with her co-worker and friend, Annie Critchley. Her favorite pasttimes included drinking a beer with her longtime pal, Jeannie, listening to "Oldies But Goodies" on the radio and never missing an episode of Law & Order. She always was there for family in times of need or just to give a good laugh.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Timothy Jr. and Allen; parents, step-grandchild, Ricky Plass; ex-husband, Timothy C. Barton; brother, Ralph "Sonny" Porter; sister, Dorothy Meisner and significant other, George O'Dell. 

She is survived by her sister, Joan Porter; daughter, Gale Barton; step-children, Karen Esquilin and Kelli Lowe; grandchildren, Kevan Barton and his wife, Celina Miranda, Rayna Torres and her husband William Torres and Brice Derello; step-grandchildren, Chasity, Linda, Alisha and Deanna; great-grandchildren, Reanna Torres, Dayvien Torres and Maya Barton; and several step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends who wish to pay their respects from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
