POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie resident Patricia M. Hicks, a lifelong area resident, died on Tuesday, Feb. 9. She was 56.

Born in Yonkers, Hicks was a cook at the Multi County Community Development Corp.

"She had the biggest heart," noted information from the McHoul Funeral Home. "Patty's high energy and beautiful smile could light up any room. She always gave unselfishly of herself and put her needs last."

Hicks is survived by her son, John Patrick Hicks II and his girlfriend Kasey; daughters Rosemarie Evans and Melissa Nero; stepdaughter Jennifer Hicks; longtime companion Ed Degroff; six grandchildren; stepfather Raymond Leinen; siblings Debbie Licurse, Lori Lennox, Suzanne French, Steven Lennox, and Scott Leinen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Lennox and Rose Carlucci.

Services will be held in March; details will follow. McHoul Funeral Home, in Hopewell Junction, is assisting with arrangements.
