POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Michael E. Takacs, of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, April 10 at home. He was 65.
Takacs was born Sept. 18, 1950 in Poughkeepsie. He was the son of June (O'Neill) Takacs and the late Ernest S. Takacs.
He was employed by HD Supply Waterworks in Poughkeepsie as a senior estimator and was a local resident all his life. Takacs was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1968, and was also a graduate of Dutchess Community College.
Takacs was a member of the Dutchess Pistol Association. He loved to golf, ski and shoot. Family was always first and he loved his dog Sadie and two cats Merlin and Linus.
He is survived by his wife, Robin L. Takacs of Poughkeepsie; daughter Ashley Takacs of Albany, NY; his mother June (O'Neill) Takacs of Cornwall, NY; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Nick Schettino of Lagrangeville, NY; brother in-law Robert Bailey and his wife Edie of Georgia; sister in-law Sheryl Flanigan and her husband Thomas of Maryland; sister Debra Mcllvenna and her husband Bernard of Beekman, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday April 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie.
