Mary Etta Marquardt, 91, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Mary Etta Marquardt, of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, Aug. 11. She was 91. 

She was born Aug 12, 1925, in Salem, N.J. After graduating from Woodstown High School, she went to work for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator in Bridgeton, N.J. 

She enjoyed bowling and golf. 

She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Hitchner; brother, Oakford Gandy Jr. (Jane); sister-in-law, Carol Gandy; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Millicent; brother, Russell Gandy; and niece, Mary Hitchner. 

Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of St. Martin De Porres, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 62 Lagrange Ave, Poughkeepsie.
