Louis E. Lemak, 68, Longtime Poughkeepsie Resident

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Poughkeepsie resident Louis E. Lemak died Wednesday, May 4. He was 68.

A Poughkeepsie native, Lemak served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 203 in Beacon. 

He also worked for Blocksum in Poughkeepsie as a machine operator. 

Lemak is survived by his wife, Emilia A. (Straley); his brother, Richard C. Lemak Sr., and wife, Maria; two nieces; and six nephews. 

He was predeceased by his sister, Rosalyn Gordon; and his parents, Louis Thomas Lemak and Dorothy Margaret Perrine Lemak. 

Calling hours will be Monday, May 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
