Lifelong Dutchess Resident, EMT Kelly Sargent Dies At 54

Kelly Sargent, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, died on July 11 with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 54.

Kelly, who lived in Millbroook, was born June 2, 1963 in Poughkeepsie to Fay Emmanuel and Carl Brown, who survive her.

Kelly loved her boys, Benjamin and Dylan - making wonderful memories with them.

She had a fierce love of life, always able to see the humor in things and was an engaging story teller.

Her tenacity and independence gave her the strength in her fight against cancer.

Kelly gave years of active service as an EMT and had a professional career in the medical field.

She loved animals and pet walking. She enjoyed snowmobiling and was a pink ribbon rider.

Kelly is also survived by husband Gerry Sargent, son Dylan Sargent-Brown, step son Billy Sargent (Delilah), step daughter Sharon Zampko (Patrick), grandson Jacob Zampko, granddaughter Lia Zampko, stepfather David Emmanuel, sister Karla Triola, (Larry), brother Rod Brown (Linda), sister Cari Schulhoff, brother Peter Brown (Glenda), several wonderful nieces and nephews; her dear friend Lisa Hauer and her loving cat Claus. Kelly is predeceased by son Benjamin Sargent-Brown.
