BEACON, N.Y. --Juan Torres, a resident of Beacon, died Wednesday, Feb. 24. He was 83.
Torres was a retired plumber for the Fishkill Correctional Facility.He is survived by his wife, Maria E. Torres; four children, Ivette Zolotas of Kerhonkson, Ileana Prentice of Wappingers Falls, Juan Manuel Torres Jr., of Kingston and Mildred Enid Smith of Orient, Ohio; two brothers, Francisco Torres of Florida and Antonio Torres of St. Louis; one sister, Rosa Torres of Chicago; five grandchildren, Juan Luis Morales, Michelle E. Morales, Patrick Morales, Christina Marie Zolotas and Gabriel O. Smith; three great-grandchildren, Amora Morales, Dante Morales and Deslin Morales; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, sisters and a granddaughter, Nani Abdelhady.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, from 5-7 p.m. at Libby Funeral Home Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, followed by a 7 p.m. service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
